Why have wooden gates?
Wooden gates have a lower proportion of market share, however they are often seen as being very traditional, synonymous with rural areas due to their natural appearance. Strength is there with wood if you choose the right one, so it is more a case of the look you would like.
Why have metal gates?
A larger proportion of the domestic market for gates are made from metal, typically front garden gates if there is a walled area. A large majority are made from steel and most of the remaining gates from wrought iron. Metal gates can be extremely decorative but also very strong. The strength is what makes them appeal to the agrucultural market.
Which electric gate is best?
A typical swing style electric gate uses more power due to the gate creating a "sail effect" and any form of wind would require more power from the motor. Sliding gates can operate on less power as the movement of the gate is very consistent.
